Guinean Dance w/ Master Teacher, Youssouf Koumbassa
A world renowned and celebrated master teacher of West African Dance, Youssouf Koumbassa, will be on Maui teaching two classes at Kihei Dance Connection on 11/18and 11/20 from 6:30 to 8pm!!!
Youssouf is known for introducing Guinean Dance to the western world and has been visiting and teaching on Maui for over 30 years.
Each time, he brings his signature grace of movement, mastery of technique and joy in community to every class.
Classes will be accompanied by live drumming by Konkoba led by Jesse Krebs. Welcome to all levels.
Classes are $25 + tips for drummers.

Double Trouble, steals, and swaps
Ready to level up your West Coast Swing with some playful chaos? This workshop dives into partner steals, role swaps (lead to follow and back again!), and dancing with two follows at once. We’ll use mainly basic WCS patterns, so as long as you’re comfortable with your fundamentals, you’re good to go. We highly encourage everyone to know both roles for maximum fun and skill-building.

In this session, she'll discuss the physical and emotional value of meditation and learn simple yet powerful breathwork techniques (pranayama) to calm the body and mind. Lyn will guide us through a meditation and provide practical tools to help you begin or deepen your practice.
